NextUP is an organization of young leaders who support the greater mission of Martha O’Bryan Center (MOBC) which strives to “break the line” between poverty and potential by serving 10,000 Nashville individuals and families. NextUP is raising awareness among young leaders in our community who would like to be more involved in an organization that is giving people a hand up, not a hand out, through support, service and contributions.
When promoting Martha O'Bryan Center, NextUP creates engaging and dynamic events to capture Nashville’s attention, like the upcoming Foodbank Throwdown 2017, a Nashville chef competition with a little twist. Our special ingredient? Items typically donated to local food banks.
On June 15, eight local, top chefs will cook against each other - and the clock - to showcase how an amazing home-cooked meal can be made gourmet, even with the simplest of ingredients. Local food experts will judge the competition and you'll get to eat (and drink) your way through some amazing food and watch the competition unfold, live.
Taste dishes prepared by chefs from Etc., MStreet, Silo, Sinema, The Farm House, Two Ten Jack and others. What will our talented chefs come up with this year?
In its third year, Foodbank Throwdown 2017 supports an organization giving back to the community for over 100 years, and proceeds raised will benefit the Martha O'Bryan Post-Secondary Program which mentors and supports first-generation college students.
The event will be at the Martha O'Bryan Center on June 15, 2017, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Early Bird tickets are available for $49 through May 15th, so grab yours here.
