TennSpeed: The Ride for Education - NextUP (Martha O'Bryan Center Ambassadors)

  • 4340 Arno Road Franklin, TN, 37064 United States (map)

Our goal is simple:

We want to send 1,000 more low-income students to college!

We currently have over 500 students enrolled in college with another 720 students going through our high school programming to enter college or technical school. With the increasing number of students participating in our Academic Student Unions, Martha O’Bryan Center knew we needed a way to support those students once they entered post secondary; and so, TennSpeed was born. TennSpeed knocks down all the barriers to high skilled jobs and middle class careers for young people who are growing up in poverty.

Join us for the second annual TennSpeed: The Ride for Education on Saturday, April 13, 2019. The ride will start and finish at Epworth United Methodist Church just 2 miles off of I-65 in the Franklin area. Cyclists will enjoy the rolling hills and beautiful scenery that Williamson County offers, all while riding for a great cause! Route options include 20 miles, 30 miles, and 62 miles for the most novice and experienced cyclist. This is a fully supported ride with rest stops every 5-10 miles along the route. Each rest stop will offer medical staff, support and gear vehicles, bike mechanics, helpful volunteers, as well as necessary food and beverages to refuel!

In addition to an amazing ride, cyclists are invited to join us for a dinner and celebration on Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Loveless Barn. Cyclists will be able to pick up their swag, hangout with teammates, and hear more about Martha O'Bryan Center, and what all of their hard work is benefitting!

All fundraising efforts from cyclists will go directly to supporting educational programming at Martha O'Bryan Center, focusing on pathways to post-secondary educational opportunities for Nashville's young people.
