Team Green Adventures - Cumberland Falls Moonbow Hiking & Camping Weekend

  • Cumberland Falls State Park (map)

Come join us & experience the Moonbow, a rare natural atmospheric phenomena known in Kentucky when the Moon’s light is reflected and refracted off water droplets in the air, usually occurs 2 days before and 2 days after, including the Full Moon if the other conditions are met. The Moonbow happens monthly if the weather, water and astronomical conditions are right.
Once we arrive at Cumberland Falls State Resort Park we will have lunch, setup camp, & dayhike the very scenic Dog Slaughter Falls. Optional dinner at the Riverview Restaurant or campsite (participant choice) Saturday evening. We will have a group campfire after dinner and then head down to experience the Moonbow. Currently it is scheduled to occur 10:30pm – 12:30am EST.  Breakfast Sunday morning at the Riverview Restaurant and return to Nashville. (Meals are not provided).
