YP Nashville is a partnership between the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and young professional organizations working to engage, connect and empower young professionals to actively shape the future of the Nashville region.
The goal of YP Nashville is to connect young professionals to diverse opportunities for networking, professional development and community involvement. YPNashville.org is the place for young professionals who want to get involved and make a difference in their companies and our community. While the presidents of all YP Nashville member organizations meet twice each year, a volunteer chair spends a great deal of time working to support the efforts of YP Nashville. Our YP Nashville chair and past chairs are an integral part of our YP Nashville team, and we appreciate all they do!
2016-2017 YP Nashville Chair
Sarah Hannah, Partner, Bradley Arant Boult & Cummings, LLC
Sarah Hannah represents public and private companies of all sizes and stages of development, from startups to multinational corporations. She provides a full range of transaction support to clients in matters involving mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, securities and corporate finance, and franchise and distribution. She was named to the Nashville Business Journal's Top 40 Under 40 in 2014 and received the Rising Star award from Mid-South Super Lawyers. Her professional memberships include American Bar Association, Tennessee Bar Association, Nashville Bar Association and Lawyers Association for Women. She volunteers as the Advance Nashville Women’s Entrepreneurship chair since 2013. She serves as a board member of the Sexual Assault Center.
Alex Hughes is vice president, talent attraction and retention for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce. Hughes leads the expanded effort to ensure that the workforce meets the needs of the region’s expanding economy. She engages a broad cross section of partners to provide quality programs and services to the region’s existing businesses, relocating companies, HR professionals, young professionals, universities, and local organizations and to support workforce development. Key programs and initiatives under her supervision include strategic planning for regional talent needs, workforce support for relocating and expanding companies, human resource and young professional programming; WorkIT Nashville, YP Nashville and the Nashville Emerging Leader Awards program.
Meredith McKay was born in Nashville, but grew up living in North Carolina and Connecticut. After high school, she decided it was time to go back home to Nashville to attend Belmont University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree as a music business major and was a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau sorority. She enjoys continually learning new skills, meeting people, social media marketing, and is a self-proclaimed grammar nerd.
As the manager of talent attraction and retention for the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, Meredith’s key role is to manage the day-to-day happenings of YP Nashville, a partnership between the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce and more than 40 young professional organizations working to engage, connect and empower young professionals to actively shape the future of the Nashville region. She also connects job seekers with helpful resources and manages NashvilleJobsLink.com, a web-based recruiting tool.
