Description:
|
|
The Young Alumni Council (YAC) is a group of approximately 30 Belmont alumni who work as volunteers for the Office of Alumni Relations. The purpose of the YAC is to actively seek the involvement of alumni who have graduated in the last 10 years. The YAC\'s primary mission is to advocate the needs of young alumni and foster young alumni programming.
PURPOSE/HISTORY:
Belmont University recognized the importance of maintaining a strong relationship between its alumni and their alma mater. The YAC was established in 2005 in order to strengthen the connection for younger alumni who have graduated within the past 10 years.
Undergraduate schools, colleges and majors from the university are represented on the YAC and promote a sense of community. Social, cultural, educational and career-oriented functions are designed to allow young alumni to communicate, network and socialize with fellow grads.
Applications for new council members are accepted every spring. We are looking for three main qualities in our selection process of YAC members: 1) a deep passion for Belmont University; 2) a desire to give back time and resources to Belmont University; and 3) a well-rounded former student and individual.
