The Urban League Young Professionals of Middle Tennessee is an Affinity group of the Urban League of Middle Tennessee. Founded in 2004, its mission is to engage young professionals between the ages of 21–40 in the Urban League's movement towards the achievement of social and economic equality. ULYP MT does this by providing leadership development, social activities, economic empowerment, and community volunteer opportunities for young professionals.
ULYP MT supports the goals and mission of the Urban League of Middle Tennessee by serving the Mid-State Corridor and developing our members through mentoring, tutoring, scholarships, economic empowerment, political engagement, and leadership development programs. The ULYP MT also implements programs in support of the National Urban League's five-point empowerment agenda, which includes: Education and Youth, Economic, Health and Quality of Life, Civic Engagement and Leadership, and Civil Rights and Racial Justice. In addition, the ULYP MT works to strengthen our members, by encouraging them to achieve balance in their lives even as they work to strengthen the community. To this end, ULYP MT encourages the development of programs that enhance each member's personal and professional development.
